Yes, they are meant to be that colour! Dried apricots that are a lovely bright orange colour are covered in chemical preservative sulphur dioxide. Look for lovely dark coloured dried apricots with no yucky preservatives.
I’d rather eat organic darker ones without the chemicals any day! Perfect with any hot or cold breakfast muesli, in a trail mix, lunchbox nibbles or used to sweeten desserts, in baking, slices or balls.
