Air Fryer Burger Balls: Leftovers-To-Lunchbox Balls
Burger Mix makes it so easy to turn leftover dinners into convenient, portable GF lunchbox balls (or a cleverly tweaked side for the next meal!)
Try these 2 classics, spaghetti bolognaise or mashed potato air fryer balls - but don’t feel limited! If you can mix your leftovers together with Burger Mix dough, & it’ll bind / hold shape as a ball, the flavours will play nicely with most savoury dishes! Tip: feel free to add eggs or grated cheese, extra herbs & spices etc (but these are easy & great as is!)
Ingredients
- 400g Burger Mix
- 200mL water
- 50mL olive oil (& extra to spray)
- Salt & pepper
- Leftover spaghetti bolognaise mince or mashed potato.
Method
1. Add water & olive oil to Burger Mix (follow directions on back of pack).
2. Leave mix to sit / form a dough. Allow plenty of time for seeds to soften & absorb moisture for improved digestion. A few hours min, up to a few days max (refrigerated) is fine. It’s good to have a soaked batch ready to go, or if you see that you have a heap of leftovers after dinner - use that as a cue to soak some Burger mix, ready for ball-making the next day!
3. In a large bowl, combine the same volume of leftovers with Burger Mix dough, mix & form into golf ball sized balls (or whatever size / shape you like).
4. Arrange in the air fryer (on baking paper for ease of cleaning / flipping), spray with olive oil, add a good sprinkle of salt & pepper, then cook 20mins at 200 degrees (give them a shake at 12-15mins to ensure they brown / crisp evenly).
5. Get creative & apply this method to almost any leftovers you can think of!
Savoury air fryer ball making can turn lousy leftovers into luscious lunch boxes!
