Benefits of green powder & who will benefit most from Greens+Aloe?

Your main reason for using green powders will influence your choice of products. If you don’t eat a lot of fruit & veggies, maybe a greens with powdered fruit & veg would be a decent option for you. But if you already eat tonnes of spinach / pineapple / apple / beetroot etc, it makes no sense to buy the expensive dried powdered versions with your supergreens! Just continue to eat those fresh & put your supplement dollars towards greens you can’t pick up fresh from the markets (ie Spirulina, Chlorella, young cereal grasses). But what are the main benefits of green powder? Why did we choose the ingredients for Greens+Aloe and who will benefit most from it?

Green Powder Benefits

Why do you want to take greens? And what green powder benefits are you looking for?

I wanted to fix my crappy liver / gut / get better skin & energy & immunity & hormonal balance back in the day.

Here’s some of the most common reasons I hear from customers (see if these match yours).

  • I don’t eat enough green veggies & know this is an easy way to boost ‘green nutrients’ ✅ great reason
  • I want liver & detox support, I know I’m pretty toxic ✅ yes
  • I want better skin ✅ yep
  • I want more energy / better performance ✅ yep
  • I want a healthier gut ✅ 100%
  • I want to lose weight ✅ yes, can help
  • I want to alkalise my body (kind of - requires explanation)
  • I want extra nutrients but not from pills ✅ perfect

What is Greens + Aloe?

Greens+Aloe is a simple but strong greens powder, with a good therapeutic dose of aloe inner leaf gel.

Ingredients: Spirulina, chlorella, barley & spelt grass, aloe vera inner leaf gel. (All certified organic).

Who Will Benefit From Our Greens+Aloe Powder?

I used to sell greens to everyone when working in healthfood / pharmacy! So when I first made the product, I just wanted to make ‘the best possible greens powder’ ie greens plus something (& I wanted that ‘plus something’ to be great for all our Blend11 gut customers). So - I chose Aloe vera inner leaf gel (against the advice of a business advisor we had at the time, because it was ‘too expensive’). Maybe he was right - it is by far the most expensive ingredient in the tub, but when you think about a fresh aloe vera plant, it makes sense. The inner leaf of aloe is 99% water, & only 1% glucomannans, amino acids, lipids, sterols & vitamins. So it takes a LOT of fresh aloe gel to make a dose of powder! That is why it’s not the cheapest greens powder out there.

Anyway - aloe was an obvious gut support choice, but it also beautifully supports those with insulin resistance (another epidemic problem!)

What Is Insulin Resistance?

Insulin resistance (when cells stop responding properly to insulin, resulting in elevated blood sugar) is a precursor to T2 diabetes & is thought to start about 10-15 years prior to diagnosis, which means (if the average age of T2 diabetes onset / diagnosis is 45yrs), 30 to 35yrs old is when you need to get really serious about prevention. Watch the sugars, refined carbs, build those muscles &…include supplements like Greens + Aloe into your daily routine!

Insulin Resistance plays a major role in:

  • tendency to store belly fat easily
  • poor muscle building ability
  • type 2 diabetes
  • excess abdominal fat / central obesity
  • cardiovascular disease (high blood pressure, elevated triglycerides & cholesterol, stroke, heart attack etc).
  • PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome)
  • gout
  • acne
  • NAFLD (non-alcoholic fatty liver disease)

So…think of Greens + Aloe for insulin resistance (& all the associated conditions) as well as for the more typical gut repair / immune / inflammatory stuff.

Note: it tastes like grass, so some great (low sugar) ways to dose up are:

  • in a shaker bottle with ice, & 1/2 a lemon or lime (squeeze the juice in, then throw in the squashed peel too for extra zestiness to mask the green taste).
  • in a protein shake post gym
  • in a shaker bottle with another flavoured supplement i.e magnesium or vitamin C etc.
